Angolan ICT White Paper will be updated

The Angolan White Paper on Information and Communication Technologies will be updated, as the ICT sector constitutes an important element that drives the country's social development and economic prosperity.

The information was revealed by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), and society's contributions began on March 22nd and will last for a period of 30 days.

According to MINTTICS, ICTs are a driving force in the fight against poverty and social exclusion; a catalyst for the modernity and progress of the Angolan people, on which the construction of a more informed, more intelligent society with greater access to technology is based.

BUT: Government will continue to invest in infrastructure to ensure a technological future

The ICT White Paper is “the repertoire of policy measures and strategic guidelines for telecommunications and ICT, which, in accordance with the development of the sector, depending on global evolution and trends, is periodically updated".

The ICT White Paper, for the period 2023 – 2027, among others, outlines policy measures and strategic actions for the country's digital transformation and acceleration, based on a set of social assumptions, needs, perspectives capable of responding , in a sustainable way, to the development challenges of the ICT sector in the country. In the opinion of MINTTICS, due to its transversality, companies, specialists and all those interested in matters linked to ICTs are invited to make contributions to the White Paper on ICTs.
