Mozambique: Standard Bank promotes initiatives to support female entrepreneurship

In allusion to the last month of Women, the Standard Bank Mozambique promoted two virtual initiatives to support female entrepreneurship in that country.

It was about #Ideate, which was designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, and #iCreate, a program aimed at founders and managers of companies established in Mozambique, but with great potential for growth and scalability.

O #Ideate was promoted jointly with the German Cooperation for Development (GIZ), and was a program to encourage entrepreneurship and the development of innovative businesses to solve challenges. It started on the 28th of March and lasted for five days, without forgetting that it comprised a workload of four and a half hours, and where it trained women entrepreneurs or aspiring women, as well as those who have innovative ideas or businesses in their portfolio in the areas of economics green, recycling and others.

About #iCreate, to inform that it had as a partner the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and it was an initiative to strengthen the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with a view to preparing them for scalability and growth.

According to what was revealed by the banking institution, these two programs will last for 12 weeks, where it is expected that 25 MSEs will be selected, provided that they have been in operation for more than three years and formalized, in addition to having at least minimum five workers.

It should also be noted that, in addition to training, participants in both programs will benefit from mentoring and support in business consulting adjusted to their needs, exposure to market and financing opportunities, access to a variety of business support services, as well as as well as content from partners and specialists from different sectors of activity.
