After having presented the internet.org which is a service that offers Facebook (and other sites) for free for all Angolans from Cabinda to Cunene, Movicel will now promote the partnership with Wikipedia, thus facilitating the search for information that will be made free of charge to Students and the general public.

After service success internet.org, Movicel decided to create a direct partnership with Wikipedia, so that its customers can not only access information in a more direct way, but so that they can also share their knowledge with the rest of the world.

This partnership was made with the Wikimedia Foundation to launch Wikipedia Zero in Angola. Wikipedia Zero is a joint initiative between the mobile operator and the Wikimedia Foundation that will offer Movicel customers free access to Wikipedia on mobile devices.

What is Wikipedia?

Wikipedia it is the freest and most democratic resource to knowledge in the world. It is a collaborative creation that has been edited by millions of people around the world since it was created in 2001. Anyone can edit information on the platform at any time, allowing information to grow rapidly

But after all, what are the gains of Angolans with this service?

It is known that in some media in Angola, there is still a lack of information and users without monetary conditions for the constant use of the internet, so Movicel came once again to help Angolans to access this online search service to help in the development of research, and free information access.

Now the two major mobile phone companies in Angola are now allowing free access to Wikipedia. Great news for the students.

A great initiative by Movicel, right?
