The MenosFios team is in Barcelona to cover the MWC 2018 with the support of CABLE TV.

What is Android Go and why did Alcatel decide to invest right away?

Android Go a lighter version of Android Oreo. Android Go brings optimization in 3 areas: Operating system, Google Play Store and Google's own applications, which have been redesigned to work better, with less hardware resources.

The operating system is based on Android Oreo. However, it was made to work perfectly on smartphones with up to 1GB of RAM, so that even the cheapest equipment can have Android with a good performance.

According to Google, Android Go occupies about half of the space occupied by Oreo. Ideal for smartphones with little internal storage. Ideal for the most economical smartphones.

Best Performance

Improved performance, devices that use Android Oreo - in the Android Go edition - will be able to open 15% Apps faster than the conventional version. Additionally, Google has enabled a feature that will reduce your mobile data consumption by default.

Google has released optimized versions of its applications: YouTube Go, Files Go, Gmail Go, among others. These "Lite" applications are optimized to work with fewer features without compromising on the user experience or features included.

With Alcatel X1, the company aims to conquer emerging markets, with India and some countries in Africa prominent.
