UNITEL launched yesterday, March 10th, the 7th edition of the UNITEL GO Challenge, a contest that aims to identify the best digital business startups in the country, as well as boost the digital ecosystem in Angola.
The Contest is open to all entrepreneurs and developers in the country, as well as Angolans residing in the diaspora. And it gives competitors the possibility to present their projects individually or in groups of up to 5 elements, with the submission of a functional prototype/product already launched on the market being mandatory (eg mobile application, website or other digital technology).
Requirements
The Go Challenge has the premise that “any programmer can develop a Front Office, but only a robust Startup can develop a sustainable business”.
Among the requirements for participation, the following stand out:
- Permission to use any development program;
- Submission of an explanatory video of less than 16 MB, up to 1 minute in length, where the operation of the Digital Business is demonstrated;
- Document presentation with the functional description (PowerPoint or PDF) based on the template available on the UNITEL website;

The developed project should be sent to the email address [email protected] in the period of March 10th to April 15st, 2022, for the screening process for the following phases until the final classification. The winning projects will be forwarded to the Pitch Competition of WebSummit which takes place in November, where they will have an exhibition to Investors from all over the world.
The awarding of prizes will be classified in the following categories:
- Winner
- Honorable mention:
- Innovation
- Social Responsibility (Education and Health)
The winner will be entitled to:
- 4 Million Kwanzas
- Online participation in WebSummit 2022
- Up to 5 laptops
- 1 year of free telecommunications
- Dissemination in the communication channels of UNITEL and partners
- 1 year of mentoring with UNITEL professionals and partners
