UNITEL Go Challenge 2021 reaches final gala

It is on this Friday, October 01st, that the final of the UNITEL GO Challenge 2021 competition will take place.

The 2021 edition, which was launched on June 01st, was open to any entrepreneur or developer in Angola, as well as to Angolans residing in the diaspora, where they had to present a project individually or in groups of up to 5 elements, but with the obligation for all projects to be presented in a functional prototype.

According to a statement from Unitel about the final gala, and which Menos Fios had access, in this edition more than 230 projects were submitted for evaluation, where only 10 were selected for the final, which will be broadcast live on the “Janela Aberta” program of the Angola Public Television.

1. Deya| Crowdfunding platform (collective funding) whose mission is to help democratize access to funding and generosity for causes and projects with social and economic impact
2. Owysa | Platform for those who want to buy or sell online courses, e-books or other digital products, thus promoting digital entrepreneurship and creating alternatives to traditional education.
3. angowaste| Digital platform that connects waste generators with companies that need this waste for their production process, recycling them
4. Pay3| Fintech Payment Services provider that offers its customers the payment model for products and services in installments with immediate delivery.
5. KIOXKEDigital bookstore that offers access to Angolan and international literature at an affordable price and in Kwanzas.
6. SPOT| Digital platform, which allows you to search, find and book a table in the ideal spot. And Spot manager A Software and App, which allows you to manage and centralize all reservations and much more…
7. LWEI | Financial services platform, which offers its users the possibility of payment between people, online and offline services and credit risk assessment to facilitate Micro Credit and Micro insurance for everyone!
8. IXI| Reservation application that brings together the best spaces in Luanda. And it gives the user the possibility to discover and book new experiences
9. Lwei Brokers | Authorized financial instruments intermediary, which offers digital and omni-channel access to the Angolan stock exchange, in a fast, simple and secure way, facilitating access to all investors.
10. Angola franchises| Consulting firm that helps brands expand through franchising.

Please note that all projects developed were sent by email from June 01st to July 01st, 2021.

For awarding the prizes, the list follows:

• 4 Million AKZ
• Online participation in WebSummit 2021
• Up to 5 laptops
• 1 year of free telecommunications
• Dissemination in the communication channels of UNITEL and partners
• 1 year of mentoring with UNITEL professionals and partners

Honorable mentions will be entitled to:

• Up to 5 laptops
• 1 year of free telecommunications
• Disclosure on UNITEL's communication channels
• 1 year of mentoring with UNITEL professionals and partners

It should be noted that UNITEL GO Challenge is a digital business competition and not a digital platform competition, evidenced by the fact that 70% of the evaluation criteria are linked to business management, such as the operation of the business, and the constitution of teams with economic viability.

The concept of the contest revolves around the premise that “any programmer can develop a front office, but only a robust startup can develop a sustainable business”.
