The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, declared, this Thursday, the end of the mandate of the individuals who make up the Board of Directors of the Angola Telecom, EP

The information is contained in a decree signed yesterday(15) by the Head of State, João Lourenço, which states that the termination of the former Board of Directors of Angola Telecom is “result of the conclusion of the restructuring process, with the aim of enabling its capitalization and providing it with attractive conditions with a view to its subsequent privatization".

Angola Telecom is one of the companies in the telecommunications sector that will be privatized, through a public tender, as revealed by the deputy spokesperson for the Privatization Program (PROPRIV), Ottoniel dos Santos.

BUT: IGAPE rules out privatization of Angola Telecom

The Privatization Program (PROPRIV) began in mid-2019 and essentially aims to strengthen Angola's private sector, making it more efficient and competitive. It appears as one of the guiding lines of the restructuring and resizing of the Public Business Sector (SEP).

PROPRIV forms part of the Public Finance Reform, with a view to promoting macroeconomic stability, increasing the productivity of the national economy and achieving a more equitable distribution of national income.
