Kenyan authorities are concerned about the increase in cyber attacks, after the country reached a record number of 860 million incidents recorded in 2022.

The information was released today by the Kenyan communications regulator, cited by Africanews, which expressed concern about the growing frequency, sophistication and scale of these cyber threats, which particularly target that country's critical information infrastructure.

BUT: How to mitigate the rise in cyber incidents in Africa

"In 2017, Kenya faced 7,7 million cyber attacks, and there has been a significant increase in cases over the last four years“, says the publication.

Kenya is now the third most targeted country by cybercriminals in Africa, behind Nigeria and South Africa.
