According to rumors, negotiations are taking place between the Google and HTC about a possible acquisition of the manufacturer's smartphone sector.
Taiwanese HTC is not doing well, despite having designed a good device with the HTC U11, sales were not extraordinary and the brand had a decrease in sales of 14,4% in the first 8 months of this year, compared to the same period in last year.
In a highly competitive market, such as smartphones, it can be difficult for a business to rebound. The solution found by HTC, however, can work: sell your smartphone division to Google.
Google and HTC have a history of various partnerships and collaborations. HTC was the first to launch a smartphone with Android: HTC Dream. Most recently, HTC and Google collaborated in the development and production of some models of the Nexus and pixel.
