Stories have just arrived on Telegram

Telegram is releasing a new feature. The instant messaging platform is introducing stories (stories), an option that allows you to post videos or photos for a limited period of time, more prominently in the application.

This is an option that several other services already have, such as Instagram or Facebook, and that in Telegram it will work identically. It will occupy the same space in the application's interface – the stories appear at the top of the app's screen – and, as in other services, those who see them can interact or comment.

But there are some differences, here the user will be able to choose how long he wants to display a story. You can choose between 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours. You can also define who will see the story. That is, creating content that is only visible to a group of friends and another that will only be viewed by a different group of people.

BUT: Telegram will gain Stories that will disappear in up to 48 hours

Another difference is that the other services with this functionality available have it accessible to all users, while Telegram, at least for now, reserves the possibility of creating stories for users of the subscription (paid) version of the service. Users of the free version can only view stories created by users of the premium version, they cannot create their own.

Telegram has not yet explained whether the new option to create stories on the service will remain reserved for users of the paid version, but as noted by 9To5Mac, which has already tried the functionality, the limitation may be temporary. When a user of the free version tries to create a story, a message appears saying “publishing stories at this time is an option only available for subscribers”.

The premium version of Telegram has a monthly cost of 5,99 euros (about five thousand kwanzas).
