The PCA of General Administration Tax (AGT), Sílvio Franco Burity said that the introduction of information technologies in the tax system of Angola has allowed non-oil fiscal revenue to have increased 18% in the first half to 898 1 billion kwanzas.

Sílvio Franco Burity, who was speaking at the opening of the International Conference on Information Technologies in Taxation, said that the introduction of computers allowed the number of Industrial Tax returns to be changed from 7224 in 2014 to 26 869 from January to August of 2018.

AGT has invested in information technology in order to make services faster, more efficient, aimed at promoting greater bureaucracy, reducing the number of forms, as well as giving greater comfort to the taxpayer, "said Sílvio Burity.

The Angolan tax authority has in its portfolio the project to introduce the new Tax Identification Number (NIF), which as of this month will be equal to that of the identity card for national citizens, while for foreign residents it will correspond resident's card.

The General Tax Administration of Angola controls 48 tax offices, 79 land borders and about 36 customs delegations.
