Applications for the 2022 national edition of the ClimateLaunchpad, the world's largest cleantech competition. The organization of this competition, Angola, is in charge of EIT Climate-KIC and Acelera Angola, in partnership with IdeiasLab and the Embassy of Sweden in the country.
This international program is based on supporting business ideas that reduce the negative impact on the environment, and startups with cleantech business ideas are invited to participate in the competition – related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, agriculture, water, transport, circular economy and much more.
According to what the editors of MenosFios learned, for that year's edition the themes of ClimateLaunchpad will be the following: Industrial Technology, Transport and Mobility, Water and Sanitation, Food and Agriculture, EfficiencyEnergy Science and Renewable Energy.
Since the beginning of this competition, in 2014, almost 10 innovative and clean business ideas have already applied to ClimateLaunchpad. In 2020, at a time when the program was fully online, three thousand projects were submitted, with 679 teams selected to participate in more than 270 bootcamps spread across 56 countries around the world.
In the 2021 edition, the startup angowaste, which connects the actors involved in the recycling value chain, was recognized as the national champion of ClimateLaunchpad Angola, in 44 applications submitted in total, 10 of which were selected for bootcamps, mentoring sessions and participation in the ClimateLaunchpad National Final.
