Twitter starts testing circles for close contacts

For those who remember Google Plus, it had a feature that allowed you to place different users within “circles”. This idea allowed each user to have a set of circles, where friends and family were separated as desired.

Then it was also possible to share content only to specific circles of friends. This idea now seems to be being seized upon by the Twitter, which after a long period of testing, has now started to roll out the functionality to more users.

Twitter circles will allow users to place certain users within them, and later messages can be shared just for them. However, contrary to what happened with G+, in this case Twitter only allows you to create a circle.

Basically, the objective will be to focus this circle on users who are close, such as direct friends and family, sharing content with them more quickly. The novelty allows you to add up to 150 users within it.

This function began to be tested on the platform in 2021, but it is only now officially starting to reach more users. The platform confirmed that it will launch the feature for a limited set of users in iOS, Android and web apps.

Messages shared within the circle cannot be forwarded or shared, and appear on the timeline with a small indication that it is a targeted message.

This novelty also prevents users from having to limit their accounts, namely with the creation of secondary accounts or even with the placement of accounts as protected.
