Twitter is unstable after changes to character and post limits

Tens of thousands of users of Twitter reported technical problems this Wednesday, even pointing out that they could not publish, on the day of the launch on the social network of a long format that allows up to 4.000 characters per message.

More than 45.000 incident reports were registered by the Downdetector portal, reported the agency France-Presse (AFP).

According to the website The Information, Twitter's main shareholder and managing director, Elon Musk, asked the platform's teams to suspend all development until these technical difficulties are resolved.

According to this specialized publication, the failure may be linked to modifications that prevent user requests from being directed to the correct destination.

On the social network, dozens of users said they had stopped posting messages, with Twitter warning that they had exceeded the “daily limit” of the number of tweets.

US media reported that Twitter's support site added on Wednesday the mention of a limit of 2.400 'tweets' per day.

Other users pointed out that they were no longer able to use the TweetDeck application, a platform that allows you to view multiple accounts on the same screen.

BUT: Elon Musk wants to turn Twitter into a payments platform

None of the corporate Twitter accounts reported the incident on Wednesday, nor Elon Musk's.

These disturbances occur on the day of the launch of a new 'tweet' format reserved for subscribers of TwitterBlue, the new paid service that costs eight dollars a month in the United States.

Twitter Blue members can, from now on, publish messages with up to 4.000 characters, while the limit will remain at 280 characters for other users.

All users of the platform will, however, be able to 'retweet' the larger publications, including those who are not subscribers to Twitter Blue, disclosed this social network on its user support 'site'.
