Web Summit 2023: Cape Verde with 10 startups at the event

Recently, the organization of Web Summit 2023 shared the numbers reached for those registered for the event: 70.236 participants from 153 countries. According to the official list of the event, at least 58 participants are Angolans, the MenosFios is representing Angola in this regard.

However, Cape Verde is the only African country with a stand at Web Summit 2023. The 8th edition will be attended by 2.600 startups, the largest number in the history of this technological event. This is Cape Verde's fourth participation in the Web Summit, a bet that the government has been making to “give young Cape Verdeans the opportunity”.

Which Cape Verdean startups are at Web Summit 2023?

The ten Cape Verdean startups present in Lisbon work in different areas; health, tourism, events; “the most important thing is to think of digital not as an end, but as a means to leverage sectors that are important for Cape Verde. This is a generation that has become accustomed to looking for solutions to challenges through technology.”
