the pandemic COVID-19 put the technology segment in a situation seen before, thus leading to the cancellation of several large-scale events, where by chance many companies in the said sector lost large amounts of money practically in these two years. But apparently the scenario is already changing.

WWDC 2020 and WWDC 2021 were held digitally for the same reason, and the 2022 event follows the same format used the previous two years. WWDC 2022 will be a free event for all developers, and as an online event, developers from around the world will be able to attend to gain access to future versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, as well as engaging with engineers from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), through engineering sessions, one-on-one lab consultations, and the Apple Developer Forums.

Apple announced in April that WWDC 2022 will be held in early June, with the event running from June 6-10. 🇧🇷

BUT: Apple explains why it wants to remove outdated apps from the online store

Apple is also planning to host an in-person event for select developers and students, inviting them to watch a recording of the WWDC keynote at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. This will be an invitation-only event, and developers and students will be able to apply. Apple is also once again hosting a Swift student challenge with WWDC 2022 earnings available as a reward.

Apple is expected to introduce iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, tvOS 16 and the next version of macOS during the conference. The company can also talk about its upcoming M2 chips that is testing on at least nine new Mac models.
