O Angosat-2 it could be launched before the next general elections in the country, scheduled for next August, where it is currently in the final testing phase, the penultimate one before being ready, at the ISS Reshetnev facilities, in the city "closed” from Zheleznogorsk, near Krasnoyarsk, in the central/southern region of Siberia, Russia, reveals the News.

According to what was informed, operation is also being tested during launch, namely the behavior of the satellite in the face of temperature fluctuations, which can range from minus 100 degrees to plus 100 degrees Celsius.

It should be noted that Angosat-2 is done above 80%, and has some innovations and corrections of errors made in Angosat-1, namely a transmission seven times more than the first device, which had 16 "transponders” (relays) in the C Band and six in the KU Band.

BUT: Angosat-2: Construction of the antenna for the In-Orbit Tests completed

Angosat-2 will also have six "transponders” in Band C, 24 in Band KU and, as a novelty, a retransmitter will be added in Band KA.

With a total weight of two tons, Angosat-2 will also be a High Transmission Rate (HTS) satellite and will provide 13 gigabytes in each illuminated region (zones within the reach of the satellite's signal). The satellite will be based on the Eurostar-3000 platform and will have a useful life of 15 years.

The construction of this new satellite did not cost the Angolan State, as the contract for more than US$300 million, signed with the Russian side, for the construction of Angosat-1, safeguarded Angola's interests in the event of a disappearance. or destruction of the satellite.
