O Angosat-2 will receive stronger and better quality signals with the landing on Angolan soil of the “2África” submarine cable, generating development, science, digital economy, improved employment and, consequently, a better future for all citizens for Angola, according to director of IP and Broadcast Unitel, N'silu Ferreira.

speaking in the act that marked the landing of the cable on the edge of Cacuaco beach, by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, the specialist stresses that the arrival of “2África” makes Angola a reference in telecommunications on the continent, since it is the fourth submarine fiber optic cable available and this one now with much higher capacity than the others.

A fact shared by N'silu Ferreira is that the underwater fiber optic cable “2África” will also allow, with the combination of various technologies, Angosat transmission stations, for example, to receive high quality signals for TV , Internet, Voice and can best serve the most remote points where services arrive.

BUT: Rupture of submarine cables affects Angola's international communications

The cable landed last week and was buried up to a manhole installed there to house the cable. Unitel's national fiber optic cable is under construction, which will tie to this international cable and allow it to be possible to establish communications with various countries on the continent and the world.

The importance of the project is to keep the country connected to other operators and the global communications network. It allows the country greater flexibility and alternatives for communications.

Currently, the country already has two cables under the management of Angola Cables, one by Angola Telecom and, now, this fourth which is with Unitel.
