The multinational Google signed an agreement with the Paratus Group, the pan-African leader in the provision of telecommunications services, for the installation of the Equiano cable in the Republic of Namibia and to accelerate connectivity in the southern region of Africa.

According to the official statement, to which MenosFios had access, the agreement includes the construction and management of a terrestrial cable station in Swakopmund for the Equiano submarine cable, and where, with its construction completed, it will represent an expansion in the distribution of services telecommunications, providing countries with the greatest network capacity and connectivity.

"For the Paratus Group, improving infrastructure to provide better connectivity and unlimited quality networks for the Southern African region is a goal that we intend to achieve quickly and consciously” said the spokesman for the Paratus Group, Andrews Hall, quoted in the note.
