The platform Instant Kwık-Kwanza (KWIK) will mark the future of retail payments, in line with what has emerged in the rest of the world, rewarding the adoption of new technologies such as the mobile phone, in the opinion of José Matos, President of the Executive Committee of Interbank Services Company (EMIS).

Speaking of 17.edition of Banking in Analysis, a study that has become one of the main initiatives of the Deloitte Angola, the manager stresses that Kwik “becomes the primary means for using this new payment instrument, the instant transfer".

"For the first time, a payment system brings together banking and non-banking participants in the same system, ensuring interoperability between these two worlds, bringing countless benefits to the payment system and the general population. That is, in the same system, it will be possible to combine what we commonly call Mobile Payments and their Digital Wallets, and the traditional banking sector, guaranteed, through the Kwik Arrangement and brand, the interoperability between payment accounts and bank accounts“, said José Matos.

BUT: [FILDA 2023] EMIS launches KWIK to include people outside the financial system

For the person in charge, the objective is to create a platform where payment service providers, whose target is the unbanked population, can transact and carry out numerous operations, providing innovative services and thus taking financial services to the least served population layer.

"It is also interesting to remember that this transfer service is based not only on the traditional account number, the IBAN, but also on the use of alternative identifiers, such as the telephone number, e-mail and others, making it possible to transfer funds using only these data to identify the recipient's account“, He stressed.

José Matos points out that KWIK intends to be the next big national payment brand, with widespread access and to constitute itself as the future of payments in Angola, with the seal of EMIS, and all that that means, with respect for security , reliability and quality of service.
