A group of Angolan students from the fields of Science and Technology started this week an online training course on the development of digital games, to be taught by Brazilian creators.

Guided by the Brazilian game studio “dissreal” and aimed at science and technology enthusiasts, comes from the agreement between the Angolan Computing Society (SAC) and the Brazilian Association for the Development of Digital Games (Abragames), during the largest electronic games festival in Latin America, Brazil's Independent Games Festival (Big Festival), held from 7 to 10 of this month.

The training is divided into two cycles, where the first part of the event is held online and the second in person, in the country's capital, Luanda, will detail content on information on the gaming industry, training, capacity building and technical and methodological guidance for game creation, for participants to increase their technical and imaginary skills about creating ideas and training games.

The training program will also focus on others in the world of Gamers, such as “The Game Industry Overview and Game Design”, “Screenplay”, “Art” and “Programming”.

According to the vice-president of the SAC, Gabriel Patrício, the respective training has a rich scientific content and that will help to boost national science and technology actors. The idea, emphasizes Gabriel Patrício, is to ensure that there is continuous training, in which the participants who best benefit from the training can then train other Angolans.

The vice-president also underlined that the course serves as a preparation and antechamber for the First Female Digital Game Creation Circuit, to be held next August, an initiative of the SAC.
