The telecommunications company ITA will go through a rebranding process, where from July 08 will be called Paratus Angola, an idea that involves standardizing the brand in all countries, according to its General Manager, Francisco Leite.

In an interview with the newspaper Market, the manager says that this process “it has been going on for more than a year, with small actions, starting with internal disclosure itself to make our employees understand", fully informing that it is not "it is a new company but simply a new brand as such".

The official and effective change of name will take place on the 08th of July, where Francisco Leite stresses that the company is currently “at a crucial moment in this process that will culminate (…) with the official ceremony for the transfer of the ITA brand to the Paratus brand".

Although the change of name is something already real, the Director General of ITA warns that we will “continue to clarify the market because we consolidated the brand and I think that in this aspect we managed to do a lot of wonders during these 18 years of ITA, with greater focus in the last five years. We brought ITA as a prestigious brand in the market, at least that is the perception we have from the feedback we receive from the market. Therefore, this transfer has to be done very carefully so as not to lose the gains and all the value that the ITA brand currently has".

BUT: Francisco Pinto Leite: In 2021, ITA did not fire anyone due to poor business results

In an interview with the newspaper, Francisco Leite goes further and hopes that this rebranding will “transform it into just one ticket and that the Paratus brand is at the same level as the ITA brand that is still in force".

The conversation also allowed Francisco Leite to add that this rebranding of the brand has a lot to do with the strategy and vision of the group, which consists of “build in Africa a telecommunications and information technology infrastructure that catalyzes the social inclusion of African countries and this has been the main driver of all the investments that ITA has been making over the years“, he indicated.

This brand change will also consolidate the position within the business group, and bring another positioning to the market, explains Francisco Leite: opens up greater horizons for us, not only internally, but mainly with regard to the strategy of internationalization and consolidation within an African network Paratus.

"And on the other hand, it also brings us other valences, such as greater negotiating power. Using the prestige that the group has today and the financial capacity, it allows us a better negotiating position with our partners, as well as a better exposure in terms of global customers, such as supermarket chains, banking and distribution networks. of couriers to all the networks operating in the various countries of Africa. In terms of the group, it gives us more power, more possibilities to bring these businesses to Angola“, reinforces the Director.

It should be noted that this name change will be applied to all countries in which ITA is present, that is, in six African countries (South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Angola), also with a view to entering other countries Africans very soon.
