According to a new study by the organization Jon Peddie Research, the computer market is currently worth 21.5 billion dollars, twice the value of the consoles. Demonstrating that despite its constant drop due to preference for mobile devices, it remains strong.
One of JPR's analysts commented on the case saying we will continue to see a migration from casual consumer consoles to mobile devices, but that, however, people with low performance computers are switching to medium and high performance devices, mainly those aimed at players called hardcore.
The president of the organization in question added that he believes that as long as game realism continues to increase, the console market will continue to struggle to keep up with that of computers.
Also according to the same study, the computer market will be worth 23.2 billion pains in 2017.
