For those who were expecting amazing products / services at CES 2018, you will certainly be happy with LG's latest release.

Finally, LG introduced a functional version of its scrollable screen. A new concept of TV, with flexible OLED that allows the television to be stored in a box, whenever it is not being used.

The TV is being compared to a projector, as it will have great mobility. Imagine, taking your 65-inch TV wherever you want, from games with friends, presentations at college ... it's a set of applications that we can explore in the future.

In recent years, LG and Samsung have been working on encapsulating screens, foldable TVs and flexible TVs, but have been designed in smaller sizes and focused on smartphones and tablets.

With this new TV, LG raises the bar. There are no details on when the most commercial prototypes will appear, but it is clear that LG “cracked the code”.

What advantages would a rollable TV have?

  1. Mobility - being able to take your TV anywhere
  2. Various screen size options - whoever wants a 50 or 55 inch TV can unwind the TV to that exact size
  3. Advertising panels - depending on what the company is advertising in a given location, you can configure the TV to have the most appropriate size, and the TV can be used for a meeting room or for displaying notifications at an airport.
