1008

The administrative post of Cóbué, in the Lago district, continues to lack several basic social services, with emphasis on cellular mobile telephony, a situation that, according to the local population, is overshadowing the development of the region.

The feeling was expressed to the governor of the province, Judite Massengele, on the sidelines of the working visit that she recently made to that region bathed by Lake Niassa to find out about the efforts being made by the health sector to mitigate the cholera outbreak.

BUT: Mozambique. Vandalized mobile phone antennas

Residents of Cóbué indicated, on the occasion, that the deficiency of some basic social services is holding back new investments, especially private ones, in various domains and, consequently, hampering the process of local development.

Esperança Chimbindo, for example, asked the provincial government to make efforts to make the mobile phone service profitable, as it was urgent, as well as to ensure the maintenance of the boat baptized with the name "Ilala" and to replace the river transport between the coastal regions of Lake Niassa.
