The newest General Consular Management System (SIGGEC), developed by the Consulate General of Angola in Dubai, began to be implemented by Institute of Administrative Modernization (IMA), and which aims to ensure greater integration and interoperability of consular services, as well as with the objective of raising the quality of consular services provided to Angolan citizens in the diaspora.

The implementation of this technological innovation thus represents an important step towards the modernization of the Institute of Angolan Communities Abroad and Consular Services (ICAESC) and consular posts, through the simplification and dematerialization of procedures, integration and interoperability of public services.

SIGGEC will also allow the automated processing of information, integrity and security of citizens' data, providing a more dynamic public service, both for the provider, the ICAESC and consular posts, as well as for national and foreign citizens.

Another objective of SIGGEC, according to the statement, is to ensure the management of consular acts, standardize the digital presence and visual identity of diplomatic and consular missions, with the availability of the institutional portal, as well as guaranteeing the technical and functional response capacity of consular agents in the use of that tool.

According to the IMA, other valences of SIGGEC are the standardization of certain procedures in all Diplomatic and Consular Missions, including the standardization of the Consular Card model, as well as the standardization of the institutional portals of these bodies, as an integral part of SIGGEC.

Finally, adds the official note, the New General System of Consular Management to the Agenda for the Digital Transition of Public Administration of the country, thus modernizing public services by promoting the interoperability of public administration systems.

After Dubai, SIGGEC is expected to be implemented in the embassies of South Africa and Portugal.
