O Taxpayer Portal, a web platform that aims to reduce the need for taxpayers to travel to a Tax Office, once again presented problems and errors in accessing the Industrial Tax Declaration for companies under the simplified Value Added Tax (VAT) regime during that week, reveals the News.

With the difficulties of the platform, the processes accumulated, at that stage of the end of the month, leaving many companies on the verge of default, since the deadline for submitting the document is today, Friday, April 29th.

"If we do not submit the declaration by the 29th, on the 30th we are in default and subject to penalties“, said a source to the Angolan weekly, adding that “I thought that on Monday the problem would be over, but until today [Tuesday] nothing can be done".

BUT: AGT Taxpayer Portal with problems, and users are unable to pay taxes

Also that week, on Wednesday itself, it was noted that many Tax Offices, which in the case of Industrial Tax can receive the declarations, were also without the system, thus showing that it was a big problem, since many Angolan companies generate all the information through the Taxpayer Portal.

Contacted by the Angolan newspaper, AGT admitted that it had received some complaints from users of the web platform, but did not say whether, due to these technical problems, it was considering extending the deadline for delivering the Industrial Tax Declaration for companies in the simplified VAT regime.

According to the legal regulations, the failure to present the Industrial Tax declaration, or its delivery after the legal deadline, is subject to a fine of Kz 300 thousand in the case of taxpayers of the simplified regime and Kz 600 thousand in the case of companies of the general regime, whose deadline ends on the last working day of May (31).
