Innovative projects highlighted in the II edition of TIC-Huambo

More than 20 innovative prototypes of technological projects were highlighted in the II edition of Information and Communication Technologies Fair (TIC-Huambo/2023), where young Angolan innovators demonstrated their creativity and technological innovation in terms of products and services provided to citizens, in addition to the creation of partnerships and business opportunities.

Among the technological solutions presented at TIC-Huambo/2023, emphasis should be given to project ideas aimed at the sectors of agriculture, energy, security, civil construction, architecture, technology and food safety which, over the two days of the fair, focused attention of visitors to the event, held under the motto “Responsible use of digital services, for better technological inclusion”.

The same projects were put together by professors and students of courses in Electrical Installations, Renewable Energy, Food Technology, Information Technology, Architecture, Works Technicians and Civil Construction from medium and higher polytechnic institutes, both public and private in the province of Huambo, resulting from the classes practices.

Two agricultural irrigation projects stand out, one automatic and the other aerial, designed by students of the Renewable Energy course at the Instituto Médio Politécnico do Cachiungo, constituting one of the solutions to the challenges of boosting technological agriculture in the country, in the face of climatic irregularities.

The educational institution also presented projects for a hybrid electric incubator, a lowering substance, a low-consumption inverter, a wireless energy transmission network, home automation to turn on and off lamps remotely and an automatic gate that can be locked and opened. over a distance of kilometers.

BUT: Virtual School Project increases assimilation capacity of students in Huambo

From the students of the Mechatronics course at the Instituto Politécnico Privado Privado do Huambo came the prototype of a perimeter monitoring robot used in rescue actions by the security forces (National Police and Firefighters), with the aim of identifying magnitudes and evading obstacles, in addition to another informer of gas leaks and smart home automation.

In turn, the students of the Estêvão Nhime Polytechnic Institute, in the municipality of Caála, presented, among other potentialities, samples of the transformation of products from the field, with emphasis on pears, mangoes, apples and ginguba, as strategies to mitigate the difficulties of outflows and the lack of market for commercialization.

The Instituto Superior Politécnico do Huambo, through the students of Architecture and Civil Construction, presented the application of technology for the analysis of projects and sharing moments, through the use of virtual reality glasses, as well as a project of a controlled automatic crane remotely, avoiding accidents at work in civil construction works and an electric charge controller.

It should be noted that TIC-Huambo/2023 was organized by the Registry and Administrative Modernization office of the province of Huambo, and the fair was held in reference to May 17, World Internet, Telecommunications and Information Society Day.
