Recently, Nigeria's technology center and co-working space, Co-Creation Hub or CcHUB, as it is popularly called, launched a design laboratory in Kigali, Rwanda. The lab is about taking design to the way that public agencies and large corporations think about the implementation and use of technology to solve significant problems in society.

The investment being made by the Rwandan government will intensify the focus areas of the design lab that will "become a leading creative space where multidisciplinary teams of designers and product engineers will collaborate with scientists and stakeholders worldwide to explore the applications of emerging technologies that will address Africa's systemic problems, specifically in the areas of public health, education, governance, and the private sector.

The Rwandan government aims to innovate in the field of education with the aim of using technology to expand education, improve interest and learning outcomes and introduce smart applications in schools.

On the other hand, Kampeta Sayinzoga, director-general of the National Agency for Research and Industrial Development in Rwanda, pointed out that, they have already started to apply design thinking to promote the industry. “The first mindset we need to create is to build the link between research and product development. Through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, we research ways to allow design thinking to revolutionize the industrial space to create solutions ”.
