It was once announced that the WACS submarine cable Angola Cables had suffered two total cuts, which caused the limitation of traffic capacity, increased latency and losses in the package of services provided.

Practically a month later, Angola Cables has just announced that, the completion of the repair work and the respective start-up of the Submarine Cable System of the West African Coast (WACS).

Second Antonio Nunes (President of the Executive Commission of Angola Cables), After three weeks of conditioning, as a result of the cut recorded in the cable at the Sangano Station, the Submarine Cable System of the West African Coast (WACS) is completely repaired and already operational. As it is a system with more interconnections from Africa to Europe and now to South America via BAGS, WACS continues to be the main gateway to the country's international connectivity.

While the WACS restoration work lasted, all routing was transferred to the new SACS (South Atlantic Subsea Cable System) cable, which was at the time of testing but high-level response, ensuring international connectivity through Brazil to reach the United States of America and Europe.
