Skype: Application messages are now encrypted

4131

In recent times, messaging applications have decided to use encryption for messages, currently the Telegram, WhatsApp have the end-to-end encryption in your applications.

Now Skype has decided to give a new direction to its application, Microsoft has just partnered with the company Signal, the secure messaging application (which received praise from Edward Snowden ) to add end-to-end encryption to Skype.

With this partnership, all conversations, files and audio messages will be transmitted securely through the service, and they will only be readable by the user who sends and the recipient. No one will be able to intercept them easily as they pass Microsoft's servers.

It is important to note here that this security does not yet cover audio and video calls, these are guaranteed only by the standard encryption that Microsoft already offers.

The feature is currently available in the latest Skype Insider build for Mac, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS, and both users will need this version to be able to privately exchange messages.
