A startup Bluechip Technologies, Nigeria's leading provider of business application and data management solutions has launched the Primo Academy, a six-month program designed to equip aspiring data professionals with the skills they need to launch their careers in the data industry and emerging technologies.
Geared towards beginners and seasoned professionals, with or without a tech background and living in Africa, the free, fully remote program began August 1, 2022 and will run full-time.
Founded in Nigeria in 2008 by Kazeem Tewogbade and Olumide Soyombo, Bluechip Technologies is a business application startup focused exclusively on assisting companies in the planning, design, implementation and operation of business application solutions and strategies that are central to creating and maintaining a competitive advantage in business.
So far the innovative project has expanded to several African countries such as Ghana, Zambia, DRC and Kenya and specializes in data warehouse, analytics and corporate systems for banks and telcos.

Bluechip Technologies has worked with major corporate and infrastructure conglomerates such as MTN, 9mobile, FirstBank, Access Bank and Lafarge.
Candidates selected for this first class at Primo Academy will undergo training on the applications of data science and analysis, as well as soft skills and business processes to ensure workplace readiness upon program completion.
Also, successful candidates will be enrolled in a 6-month immersive training program with a curriculum covering modules such as:
- Guidance and productivity
- Introduction to Data Analysis with Excel, SQL and Python
- Data engineering with big data technologies
- Data science and machine learning
- Data visualization with PowerBI and automation with Power Platforms and more
