TikTok announced it has passed the mark of billion monthly users active last Monday, September 27th. With that number of subscribers, Tik Tok thus becomes the first application, alongside Google and Facebook, to reach this number of users.

In the last year, due to the pandemic, TikTok's popularity has increased exponentially with more and more users spending more and more time on their mobile phone and benefiting from the increased interest in content creation. Although it was almost banned in the US, and remains blocked in India and not forgetting of course the great scrutiny it has suffered from European authorities, due to data privacy and child safety, TikTok continues attract a growing number of users, according to the  CNN.
