The services of Angosat-2 will be available to communications operators in Zambia and Namibia from 2024, according to the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties – COP28, which takes place from the 30th of November until the 12th of this month, at Expo City Dubai – United Arab Emirates, the official informed that there are ongoing negotiations with foreign operators, adding that the satellite, as such, is in a position to provide any type of communications services.

"Negotiations continue, whether with Zambia, Namibia or other countries. We believe that, next year, things could be a reality internally and in other regions", said.

The minister considered Angosat important, as it is a normal satellite like the thousands of other satellites in Earth's orbit.

"National operators have been requesting services via Angosat, because it is the great communications highway that the country has, where operators make services available”, He stressed.

As stated by Mário Oliveira, mobile services in the country already use Angosat. Within the scope of the social responsibility of MINTTICS, Angosat has served as support for a new public telecommunications service, which is Conecta.

"Conecta is growing. It started in the East, but will reach the entire country. In a single word, today, we talk about Angosat services”, said the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.
