The General Tax Administration (AGT) recognized the constant technical problems in the Taxpayer Portal and gave three more days for submission of tax returns and payment of taxes due and without fines, although several accountants say that the new deadline is short, because the Taxpayer Portal remains more off than on.
As revealed by the News, the AGT extended the period for submitting tax returns due to problems in the Taxpayer Portal, which worsened in the last two weeks.
In this way, companies had three more days to submit the returns and pay the tax, without fines and interest, and where the same period of time was considered “insufficient”, by users, taking into account the numerous problems that persist on the platform. . In addition to trying for hours on end, the accountants contacted by the Angolan weekly reported that they reached the end of the day without being able to validate and submit a single statement.
BUT: AGT Taxpayer Portal with problems, and users are unable to pay taxes
It was revealed that user complaints are not only in the country's capital, Luanda, where in other provinces, the picture is even worse. The portal is systematically off.
From what has been verified, the problems in accessing and submitting tax returns through the Taxpayer Portal are always worse in the last two weeks of the month, when the volume of traffic intensifies.
It should be noted that last April the same problem was reported, where the AGT was forced to grant, at the beginning of May, a "grace period", also of three days, for accountants to fulfill obligations related to the Industrial Tax and the VAT. The Order of Accountants and Expert Accountants of Angola (OCPCA) gathered, in a dossier, duly documented with a photo of the errors, the statements that were not submitted, for the AGT to cancel the fines, which are issued automatically as soon as the deadline expires. The AGT also created a communication channel with the OCPCA, for the Order to report problems on the Portal, but this has not proved to be effective.
