A Internet Technologies Angola, SA (ITA) announced, last week, the establishment of a high-speed connection of 200 GigaBytes (GB) in optical fiber, between Cabinda and the locality of Noqui, in Zaire, connecting the enclave to the other provinces of the country, by optical fiber.

According to the company's official note, this connection is part of its strategic plan to expand its national fiber optic coverage, as well as reaffirms ITA's alignment with the Angolan government's strategy for digital inclusion and the transformation of Angola into a HUB data.

BUT: Angola's largest internet traffic platform sees a new flow record

Francisco Pinto Leite, Director General of ITA, quoted in the statement, says that this connection represents an important milestone, based on the geographic discontinuity of Cabinda with the rest of the country, and that this infrastructure makes it possible to offer connectivity services for the northernmost province of the country, with the same level available in the other provinces of Angola, thus consolidating national unity.

"ITA has stood out for its guarantees of connectivity through optical fiber, microwave and satellite technologies throughout the national territory. International Internet traffic is supported through the international points of presence (POP) in the UK (London and Rugby), Netherlands (Amsterdam), France (Marseille), Portugal (Lisbon) and US Miami”, says Director General in the document.

Finally, continues the official note, in the case of the connection to Cabinda, explains ITA, in the same way as all the other infrastructures it manages, ITA guarantees total redundancy, ensuring all connections by data transmission and the installation of fiber optic network or a dedicated point-to-point (P2P) microwave link, based on location and service provided.
