Meet the countries that have already restricted access to TikTok

O TikTok has been the target of restrictions from several countries, which have announced decisions to ban the application of short videos on mobile phones used by government officials, deputies, legislators and also public officials.

Decisions have been taken citing concerns regarding the proximity of the company responsible for TikTok, ByteDance, to the Chinese Communist Party and also the way in which user data is managed (from a security and privacy perspective).

How does it count Associated Press, the current list comprises the US, Canada, UK, India, New Zealand, Taiwan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and also the European Union – namely the three main bodies in the form of the European Parliament, European Commission and European Council.

Given the progressive way in which more countries join this list, it is likely that TikTok will experience more restrictions over the next few weeks.
