Baoba Hub is the most recent Mozambican platform that proposes to train a generation of talents in UX/UI Design, Product Design, thus allowing many young people to explore the maximum of their creative potential.

Created by the young Mozambican Tony Valeta and by the entrepreneur and designer Guidione Machava, it has the background of innovating and influencing new trends in the relationship with technology and innovation.

"I thought that the curriculum taught in schools was outdated, because they did not teach practical content that could help to face everyday life”, said Guidione Machava to the magazine Maputo Fast Forward.

Among the tools in its curriculum plan are Webflow and Figma, which also includes help in building a portfolio and positioning itself to obtain a job.

For the creators of Baoba Hub, it offers the opportunity to start a new phase of Design in Mozambique, where more than theory, students will have more practicality and mastery of the market for creating websites and applications as an option.

"TheStudents will learn what it's like to be a professional, work collaboratively, master international tools”, stressed Tony Valeta.

The School intends, in this way, to race against time, to generate balances in terms of opportunities and potential, in a country where young people still face difficulties in terms of quality training, as well as competitiveness in the field of design.

The school's actions are already under way, where in 2018 the Baoba Design Conference, which involved several professionals and entrepreneurs in the field of design in Mozambique. Other activities are scheduled between stops and starts, given the complexity of the dream.

It was recently announced the course of software design with the aim of “offer young designers and programmers the ability to use tools like Figma and Webflow.”

This is one of the actions of the Baoba Hub Design School that, in fact, is not limited to the physical space for its operation.

"We are looking for original thinkers and the only way to find them is not to place limitations on the results.”, says Guidione Machava.
