Cyber ​​experts debate electronic security in Angola

More than 20 specialists in cyber security, among Angolans, Brazilians and São Toméans, will debate, on Wednesday, 6th, and Thursday, 7th, the issue of electronic security in the country, in an event called “CyberSecur Summit 2021“, whose themes to be addressed will revolve around Corporate Investigation and Cybernetic Security in Angola. The opening speech was given by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Manuel Homem.

The event aims to promote a critical approach and knowledge sharing on Cyber ​​Security, Protection and Privacy Culture, Expertise and Digital Law, Social Engineering, as well as Reputational Risk and Computer Crimes in light of the new Angolan Penal Code.

Themes and Lecturers

  • The first panel of the conference, taking place in one of the hotels located in downtown Luanda, foresees to address three themes. “Cybersecurity and Public Policies” will be addressed by the National Director for Cybersecurity Policies and Digital Services, Hecdiântro Mena, while the Information Systems Auditor, Divaldo Sousa, will present the topic of Social Engineering.
  • To close the panel, the Technical Coordinator of the Post-Graduate Course in Threat Cyberintelligence, Thiago Bordini, will speak on “Cybernetic Intelligence in Investigative Processes”.
  • The procedures to be adopted in case of seeing infected computer media will be addressed in the first theme of the second panel, whose lecture is reserved to Ethical Hacker, Nelson Francisco.
  • SISTEC's Engineering Services Director, Nuno Vidal, will answer in detail if “People are the Most Strategic Link in Digital Security”, before the Core Manager, Schumacher Neto, address the theme 'Network Engineering with a Focus on Data Security'.

Also for the first day, there is a talk show on the theme “National Security in the Experts' View” to be discussed by the Information Security Manager in Angola, Alexandre Cipriano and by the Information Security and Digital Transformation Consultant, José Varela da Silva, who should be moderated by the Editor-in-Chief of the IT Portal, Joaquim Cassicato.

On the second day of the conference, several other topics will be discussed. The National Director for Combating Computer Crimes of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Edgar Cuico, will address “Computer Crimes in the Light of the New Penal Code”, the Executive Director, Consultant, Financial Services, Trade and Investment, Julay Morais, will focus on 'Reputational Risk' in the digital age.

The Specialist in TMT Regulation, and Mentor of the Institute of Luanda, Nádia Ribeiro, will have the theme to address “Build a Culture of Protection and Privacy”. CyberSecur's General Director, Hélio Pereira, closes the first panel of the second day when he addresses the topic 'Digital Expertise'.

“The Role of the Data Protection Agency in Angola” will also be addressed at the conference, by the Director of Inspection and Audit, Cruz da Gama and by the Director of the Legal Office, Njunjulo António.

The program also includes the themes “Fake News: From Fact-Checking to Investigation”, to be presented by the journalist Neusa e Silva and 'Ciberética', whose approach is reserved to the CEO and Director of Isenta Comunicação, António Easter.

The talk show on the second day of the conference on Corporate Investigation and Cyber ​​Security in Angola will focus on Digital Law, with the Lawyer and Professor of Digital Law and Personal Data Protection in Brazil, Rubia Ferrão and with the Legal Consultant on Privacy and Data Protection, Gelson Bay.

The Moderation of this theme will be under the responsibility of the Founder of juLaw (Legaltech), Hélia Pimentel.
