The Huambo Provincial Library is currently without computers and internet access services, so that it can provide readers with conditions for digital research, according to the library's director, Herodina Afonso.

According to the Director, who was speaking in front of ANGOP, she said that it is urgent to change this situation so that the institution can evolve towards virtual research, taking into account the challenges imposed by technological development in the current digital era.

Although he did not mention the number of computers that the Provincial Library needs, Herodina Afonso informed that the infrastructure has a computer room but that it is inoperative, to offer better services to users, since due to these difficulties readers with need to go to Mediateca do Huambo.

And to minimize the financial difficulties, she made it known that the Library has given some short courses aimed at young people, with a view to guaranteeing their self-sustainability, services that have been coupled with the renting of rooms for recreational activities promoted by institutions. private.

It should be noted that the Huambo Provincial Library was inaugurated in 2016, with the mission of encouraging the habit of reading, and where it receives daily between 70 and 85 citizens over 18 years of age, who request books from different areas of knowledge, such as economics, communication, law, philosophy, among others.
