INFOSI. Angola has over 130 free internet service points

Angola currently has 130 free internet service points in the country, which have been of capital importance, especially for young people, according to the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Pascoal Borges Alé Fernandes.

The leader who was speaking at the 4th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the 2nd Legislative Session of the V Legislature, highlighted that Luanda, Benguela, Huambo, Moxico and Kuando Kubango are the provinces with the most internet access points.

Pascoal Borges also reiterates that the internet access points appear within the scope of the “Angola Online” project of the National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI).

The project, an initiative of INFOSI, a public body supervised by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, aims to promote the development of the information society in Angola.

The activity of users of the Angola Online project basically consists of scientific research into school subjects and other training, correspondence between State bodies, as well as social networks and music.

"Angola Online" also has the support of several national technology companies, with emphasis on Angola TelecomTV Cabo, Internet Technologies Angola (ITA), UNITEL and Zap Fibras, within the scope of their social responsibilities, while in suburban areas they will be installed through the VSat system, that is, via satellite and in each access point 100 megabytes will be installed, for a range of 100 meters away, coupled with lightning rods.
