International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) will train Angolan staff in matters of financial and cybercrime, with programs designed for Africa and can be used by Angolan judicial authorities, according to the president of Interpol, Ahmed Al Raisi.

Speaking at the end of a meeting with the president of the Court of Auditors, Sebastião Gunza, the official emphasizes that Interpol has registered an exponential increase in financial crimes in Africa through cyber means and corruption.

Therefore, Ahmed Al Raisi advises justice bodies in Angola to make use of training offers on matters related to financial crimes.

"I ask that you use the more than 20 courses we have available to your advantage”, said Ahmed Al Raisi.

Sebastião Gunza, on the other hand, was satisfied with the proposal presented by the INTERPOL leader and said that Angola has several challenges ahead and that it makes perfect sense to invest in the development of human capital skills.

BUT: INTERPOL praises Angola's leadership in combating cybercrime

It should be noted that Ahmed Al Raisi was one of the main speakers at the 26th Interpol African Regional Conference, held in the country's capital, Luanda, and whose motto is the exchange of experience and strengthening international police cooperation.

During the event, participants addressed the current challenges of transnational crime, the application of laws on terrorism, cybercrime, financial crime and corruption, human trafficking and maritime piracy.

The Interpol African Regional Conference was attended by 350 delegates from African countries, the United States of America, Canada, the Kingdom of Great Britain, Australia, Qatar, Serbia, Guatemala and Brazil.
