Maningue Magic, which premiered in Mozambique in 2022 and has brought national proposals to viewers, will continue to contribute to the development of creative art and audiovisual in the country, according to João Ribeiro, filmmaker and Channel Head at M-Net, MultiChoice, the company that leads DStv and Gotv, platforms where the television channel has its antenna space.

For the director, in an interview with the digital magazine KABOOM, Maningue Magic “is a response to the lack, in Mozambique, of a channel that stands out for its local content and that does so with high quality, thus satisfying the Mozambican public”.

"This allowed us to offer our audience exclusive high-quality content focused on general entertainment, expanding our offer and providing a better experience for our customers.", said.

BUT: Mozambique: Country has new TV channel with original and national content

João Ribeiro highlights that another focus of the channel is to promote national talents within and beyond the borders of Mozambique, where by investing in local content, the channel wants to guarantee the boost of the local culture industry and improve the lives of its artists, carrying out a direct investment through contracting services from national producers, something that has never been done before by local television stations.

The channel's name was chosen taking into account several important criteria, that is, that the name was aligned with the characteristics of the Group's other brands (MultiChoice), so as to be memorable, captivating and connected with Mozambican society.
