Unitel announces the 4th edition of the women for the future program scholarships

The mobile operator UNITEL launched yesterday (26) the 4th edition of the Scholarship Program "Women for the future” referring to the 2022/2023 academic year, a program that is part of the company's Corporate Responsibility strategy, and aims to contribute to the promotion of gender equality in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Angola.

For this current edition, 50 scholarships will be available for women between the ages of 18 and 25, who intend to enroll or who are already attending higher education in the following areas of training:

  • Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications
  • Computer Engineering
  • telecomunication engeneering
  • Electromechanical Engineering
  • Computer science
  • Network Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering

According to the official note of the event, to which the editorial staff of MenosFios had access, scholarships will be awarded for attendance at higher education institutions legally recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, and will cover annual enrollment, enrollment and tuition fees, also granting the grantee an amount for general expenses (food, transport and books). The beneficiaries will also have the support of a UNITEL mentor during the term of the scholarship, for study and career guidance.

After completing their studies, scholarship holders who obtain good grades (final average of at least 16 points) will be eligible for the company's TOP STUDENTS program (6 months of paid internship). Students who finish the internship with a score of 75% or above will benefit from an employment contract.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Have Angolan nationality;
  • Be up to 25 years of age;
  • Not be or have been linked as a scholarship holder of other institutions, whether public or private;
  • Have at least 14 final average values ​​for both high school and the University entrance exam. If you have already started your studies at a higher education institution, you must also have an average of at least 14 points;
  • Not hold a bachelor's or degree;
  • Be a candidate and/or attend university courses in accredited institutions in the Republic of Angola and in the areas referenced above.

1st High School Finalist:

  • Updated CV
  • completed form
  • BI copy
  • Copy of NIF (if available)
  • Statement of notes from the previous year;
  • Secondary school grade certificate and admission exam grade (submit by August 12th)

 

2nd High School Completed:

  • Updated CV
  • completed form
  • BI copy
  • Copy of NIF (if available)
  • High school grade certificate
  • Admission exam note (submit by August 12th)

 

3rd Higher Education Frequency

  • Updated CV
  • completed form
  • BI copy
  • Copy of NIF (if available)
  • Admission exam grade (1st year attendance)
  • Statement of grades from previous years (2nd, 3rd and 4th year)
  • Notes for the current year (submit by the 12th of August)
