Angolan delegation already in Germany for the Ideas, Inventions and New Products Fair (iENA 2021)

The Angolan delegation, which will represent our country at the 72nd edition of the Ideas, Inventions and New Products Fair (iENA 2021), taking place at Nuremberg city, from the 4th to the 7th of November this year, has been in Germany since the early hours of today.

The national representatives traveled to the German country yesterday (02), Tuesday, with a team of ten members, highlighting university officials and inventors, who from this Thursday, November 4th, will start exhibiting his inventions and creations.

Please note that in 2020 the event did not take place due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 infected in Germany, and that our country participates in this event since 2009, and where until the 2019 edition, the last edition, Angola has already won 79 medals, being 19 gold, 28 silver and 32 bronze.

In the last edition, (2019), Angola won nine medals: six gold, one silver and two bronze, against one gold and two silver in 2018.

Speaking to journalists before the trip, the coordinator of the Angolan caravan, Gabriel Luís Miguel, said that unlike the 19 projects planned for 2020, this year 15 projects were registered, with a predominance of public health, particularly Covid-19, and prevention of natural disasters .

From what the MenosFios team found out, most of the projects enrolled are from Agostinho Neto University (UAN) and from the Methodist University of Angola (UMA), and where also projects from the Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University, SEAKA – Casa de Caminho Andre Luiz and Colégio Eliada.

Here are the projects registered below:

  • SIRAC, by Uninet -UAN, portrays the difficulty in controlling and containing the spread of Covid-19 in the world, which brought to light the fragility of health systems and the capacity to respond to this pandemic.

The design and implementation of a Covid-19 Integrated Tracking and Care System (SIRAC), based on current scientific knowledge in healthcare on the most frequent symptoms and treatment of Covid-19, is strongly justified as a means of prevention and control. the spread of the virus (SARS-COV-2), thus alleviating the burden on health institutions.

  • KUBAHNA – is an online donation project. It is from the Research & Technological Innovation (I&IT) and Computer Science Department of UAN. The creation speaks of the protracted situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, which left many people in poverty.

The Kubahna platform aims to connect people and institutions that want to make donations to people in need of goods in kind. On the other hand, the platform is intended to build a support network and geographically bring people and institutions in need closer together with donors.

  • COMMON (My community) UAN initiative – immigration is a big problem today, many people move from one community to another without knowing where they are going, how they are going and who can be found to support them.

COMUN is an application for creating communities. Communities can be based on countries, culture, shared interests, religion, ideology and more. These can be big or small. The COMUN application presents as relevant social impacts: Ease of access to employment, Faster integration process, Permanent support from the community.

  • Secure collection -  an app from Research & Technological Innovation (I&IT) and UAN's Computer Science Department, aims to prevent domestic violence and facilitate reporting. In the secure collection, people create an account, where they can define the aggressor and upload images, videos of some action or audio online.
  • Uvengukwa (prevention of Covid-19), from UAN – helps in identifying risk zones, which can minimize contagion, based on the location indicated, it warns if there is any type of outbreak of any disease.
  • Ukeba (our mental health), UAN – aims to identify mental disorders, illnesses that affect countless people and have a negative impact on the quality of life and well-being of those targeted.
  • Keyboard for the Visually Impaired (UAN) aims to help people with visual impairments (blind or low vision). They use the Braille typewriter and make it easier for them to learn and access systematized knowledge.
  • Alert Covid-X (UAN) – is a technological solution that appears to try to respond by minimizing the contagion of SARS-Cov2 whose main signs and symptoms are fever, dry cough and tiredness.

The developed solution has electronic components incorporated in a mask or bracelet capable of measuring the body temperature, controlling the obligatory social distancing and, in case of any irregularity, an alarm is triggered.

  • EFUNDJA (UAN) aims at “Flood Control'', derived from the technical term in Cuanhama, which refers to floods, floods or seasonal floods. It consists of a digital platform dedicated to monitoring, managing and alerting floods, serving as a preventive solution for the adverse effects caused by this natural disaster.
  • The Child and the Water, (UAN) is a project included in the university extension activities of the Water Group of the Department of Geology of the Faculty of Sciences of the University Agostinho Neto. It integrates partners such as SEAKA-Casa de Caminho André Luiz with João Henriques Pestalozzi School, Química Verde Lab with the Biofiltro project and the Permanent Secretariat of the National Commission of Angola for UNESCO.
  • Special Social Network – Inclusive Chat (UAN), the world of technologies has evolved a lot and people with special needs, specifically in the case of hearing impaired and mute people, should not be left out.

These types of needs are also connected on social media platforms and above all on instant messaging services on the Internet.

  • Rural Extension and Technical Assistance Program, da Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University, in the Cunene region – agriculture is the most affected sector, as it highly depends on climatic conditions, hence it is important to create alternatives to reduce the dependence of agriculture on the climate, and bet on “irrigation”, done in a good way. sustainable.

  • Use of e-waste from the perspective of the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycling), Methodist Universities of Angola and Agostinho Neto, this project, in addition to being in line with the need to improve sustainability, enables Angola to start taking firm and safe steps in raising awareness for treatment and recycling from junk mail.
  • Literacy and digital inclusion in needy communities, Methodist Universities of Angola and Agostinho Neto – the distribution of information allows not only the insertion of the individual in the knowledge society, but also improves their social and community relations.
  • Project to Combat Poverty in Communities (CPPPGL), UAN – aims to create mechanisms for bringing together vulnerable populations through social prevention projects.
  • LikelembaLine App (Colegio Eliada) – is a mobile application that works as a social network of a financial nature, allowing registered users to play Kixikila online, supported by a financial institution.
  • Automatic Identity Card Renewal System (Colégio Eliada) “SAR – BI” is a prototype that simulates an intelligent “roboo” system created with the aim of providing greater efficiency in the ID Card renewal process (second copy), based on biometric data (fingerprint and retina of the eyes) of the requesting user, working in real time as an ATM terminal.
