The national network of multibox, which includes  payments at ATMs, TPAs, Multicaixa Express and Internet Banking, registered 84,6 million payment processes, which corresponds to the movement of more than 3,6 billion Kz, in the first quarter of this year, according to data from the Angolan Payment System (SPA), released by Banco Nacional Angola (BNA).

These numbers are well above the 4,2 million operations through the Credit Transfer system (STC) and the operations carried out through the Real Time Payments system (SPTR), as well as the Securities Clearing Service (SCV), with 67,5 and 11,05 million, showing once again the preference of Angolans to make payments via multicaixa.

It should be noted that payments in the multicaixa network correspond to financial operations at automatic teller machines (aka ATMs), automatic payment terminals (TPA), Homebanking channel (H2H) and Multicaixa Express (MCXE), carried out with Multicaixa cards, excluding withdrawals.

BUT: Multicaixa Express moved over 4,9 billion kwanzas in 2021

According to the statistics, in the national territory ATMs represent 35% of the values handled in the multicaixa network, followed by operations carried out through the multicaixa express application with 32,6% and TPAs with 30,7%. Only 1,7% is done via Internet Banking.

Although there is greater movement in the multicaixa network, the largest volume of money processed in the National Payment System is done through the SPTR (which ensures automatic processing and settlement in real time, operation by operation, of electronic funds transfers between banks in national currency) with 13,7 billion Kz.
