Unitel extends 4G service in four more locations in the country

A UNITEL extended in January 2022, Voice and Data services in 4G technology in 4 more locations in the country, namely: Songo, Uige Province, Waku Kungo – Cell, Cuanza Sul Province, Cambambe, Province of Cuanza Norte and Things, Province of Cabinda.

The locality of Things, Cabinda Province was also benefited with 2G and 3G technologies. The 3G and 4G services, already available in 526 locations, communes and municipalities in the country, allow voice and data transmission (browsing websites, downloading and using online applications more quickly).

4G now covers the capitals of the 18 Provinces of Angola and has a deployment of 31.1% in Municipalities and over 13.7% in Communes.

With more than 14 kilometers of Fiber Optic, UNITEL has been a true engine of technological development by providing a network capable of supporting the transmission of voice and data calls with quality, reliability and transmission speed, essential factors for the success and the excellence of the service provided to its Clients.

BUT: Unitel's 4G service already covers the country's 18 provincial capitals

On the 30th of December, it successfully concluded, the first 5G data call in Angola using an allocated midband spectrum of 3,5 GHz.

The 5G infrastructure used was supported by Ericsson 5G Radio Core and Access technologies, for NSA networks (Non Stand Alone🇧🇷 Solutions that will allow a quick launch in the 5G market.
