A Microsoft finally announced end-to-end encryption on your social network Skype or Whatsapp. Starting this Monday (20), users of the Android, iOS and desktop can activate the "private conversation" function, which will protect information sent by text or audio with full encryption.

The feature that was originally announced in January, the Private Conversations feature uses the Whisper System Signal protocol to protect the privacy of audio calls and message exchanges and media files in the Microsoft Communication Service .

“To use Private Chat on Skype, the user and their contact must have the latest version of the application. This is only available for individual chats, not for groups ”.

The feature is similar to the encryption used by Facebook No. WhatsApp and Messenger to protect your users' data. Microsoft says that all calls, messages and files in the conversation will be protected by end-to-end encryption. Chat content will be hidden in the conversation list, and will not appear in notifications.

However, the novelty has some limitations. First, the tool needs to be enabled, since it is not available by default, even after the Skype update to its latest version.
